The Ember911™ Child Safety Education Program has a busy summer with their new Safety Trailer

Since receiving the new trailer in July, the trailer has been out and about non-stop. It has served as a classroom training center for 9 new firefighter cadets with our sponsor Pembroke Fire Protection District in Pembroke Township Illinois. These cadets will go on to protect the residents of Hopkins Park, Illinois and its surrounding township along with working side by side with other departments in both Kankakee and Iroquois county through the mutual aid program MABAS.

The trailer served as a child safety teaching center at this year's Kankakee County Fair where over 500 children over a week's span learned about fire and poison safety. The trailer also attended other small events throughout Kankakee and Iroquois Counties serving as a learning center for child safety.

We attended the Champaign County's "Playing it Safe" event at the Champaign County Fair Grounds. This giant one day event played host to over 750 children and their parents and covered every aspect of safety.

Just recently the Ember911™ Child Safety Trailer and Pembroke Fire Protection District staff took part in "Mini -911 Camps" presented by Icom, Iroquois County's 911 dispatch service. These mini-camps covered all aspects of fire safety and we worked with the local fire departments and EMTs in each community where the camps were held. For two weeks we traveled to grade schools throughout Iroquois County and presented our fire safety curriculum to over 400, 2nd and 3rd graders.
